Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that Marcus Rashford is more than doubtful for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Red Devils have suffered back-to-back losses against Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United and Ten Hag will want a strong response against Julen Lopetegui’s side.
Ahead of the game, Ten Hag has confirmed that Raphael Varane is available for selection after an ankle problem but there are huge doubts over Rashford’s availability tomorrow.
He told Manutd.com: “He has a problem [on Rashford], an injury on his leg, so he is a big question mark for tomorrow. But we are happy Rapha Varane is back. [Rashford] is doubtful, more than doubtful. So [there is] a big question mark.”
Rashford’s absence could be a huge blow
The 25-year-old has had a superb season for the Red Devils, bagging 29 goals and 11 assists from 53 games.
He has been hugely influential towards the league results with 21 goal contributions. His absence could be a huge blow.
The attack has been misfiring in recent matches and it is left to be seen whether the rest of the forwards can step up.
Anthony Martial has plenty to prove leading the line while the likes of Jadon Sancho and Antony need to be more clinical.
Bruno Fernandes has been creating regular chances but unfortunately, his teammates have failed to capitalise on them.
As things stand, the club need a maximum of three wins from their remaining four matches to finish in the top four.
With United being poor on the road, they may have to win their three home games, starting from Wolves tomorrow.
