A few Manchester United fans have appreciated the performance of Diogo Dalot during the club’s dominating 6-0 triumph over Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup fourth round tie.
The Portuguese full-back has been out injured for most of the current campaign but he has recently been rewarded with starts for United in the Cup competitions.
Against Tranmere, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer chose to go with a 3-4-1-2 formation with Dalot featuring in the right wing-back spot and he was impressive as he scored his first-ever goal for the club.
Besides this, he was able to manage another two more attempts on goal, as per whoscored, and he was likewise efficient in the defensive scheme of things with three tackles and two aerial duels won.
While Dalot can’t be judged entirely on a performance against a League One outfit, some of the club’s supporters believe that the 20-year-old should play in a wide attacking position more often.
Twitter Reactions:
Dalot is better than James.

Dalot is a winger for me. Nobody in the team crosses as well as him. Could solve a problem we have had for a while ? #MUFC #TRAMUN

Buzzing Dalot is back fit, and got on the scoresheet aswell. Think he’s a great option for getting forward. Direct, good crosser and a bit of skill. Love his temperament aswell! #mufc

Obviously Dalot will expect to drop to the bench for the bigger games for United, considering Aaron Wan-Bissaka has left a huge mark at right-back in his debut season due to his superb tackling skills.
Still, the former Porto graduate could have a future as a right-sided winger and he could be an option for Solskjaer in the coming months, should he want more competition for places in the role.
Daniel James and Mason Greenwood are obviously the go-to choices for the manager in Marcus Rashford’s injury absence but Dalot could act as an impact player off the substitutes’ bench.
