Barcelona meet with father of Ansu Fati amid Man Utd interest

Barcelona held a meeting with Ansu Fati’s father after Jorge Mendes offered him to Premier League clubs, reports SPORT.

The Spaniard is unhappy with his situation at the Camp Nou club having fallen out of favour.

The Red Devils are interested in signing Fati ahead of the summer transfer window.

They are keenly monitoring the situation of the 20-year-old having had him on their radar for years.

Man United are one of the clubs Fati’s agent Mendes have offered him to.

The Barca star could consider leaving his boyhood club if nothing changes.

Fati has started just nine of the 38 games he has featured in this term.

Barcelona manager Xavi has often played midfielders ahead of the La Masia graduate in attack.

Ousmane Dembele has been injured for more than two months, and Fati was expecting to play more.

Barca could end up signing another attacker next term, which would see the youngster move further down the pecking order.

Man United are also in the market for a forward, and Fati could come in handy.

He is unlikely to cost plenty of money and has shown his quality and huge potential in Spain.

Injuries in recent seasons have robbed him of the chance to reproduce the sparkling form of his debut Barcelona campaign.

The Guinea Bissau-born forward bagged seven league goals in 11 starts in 2019-20.

Fati has managed to stay fit all season this term but is left wondering why Xavi has continued to ignore him.

It could be good news for the Red Devils and their relationship with Mendes could facilitate a move.
