Barcelona and Juventus want Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho

The situation of Argentine forward Alejandro Garnacho at Manchester United has put Barcelona and Juventus on red alert, according to the Sun.

The 20-year-old has started just three games in eight appearances across the Premier League and Europa League this season.

Manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly angry about a social media post made by Garnacho after not starting the first two league games of the season.

The Man United star insisted on social media that ‘God has something planned for me’ in a cryptic post after being left out of the starting XI in the 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion in August.

He also liked posts on X defending him after Ten Hag criticised him after a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth in April.

Garnacho has started both of the Europa League games this term on the bench, and Barca and Juve are keeping tabs on the situation.

They could be willing to try to tempt Man United with a massive bid in the summer, with the club believed to value the player at £50 million.

Garnacho joined the academy of the Old Trafford club in October 2020 after Atletico Madrid were paid £420,000.

Suitors need to pay at least 120 times that fee to have a chance of tempting them into parting ways with the youngster.

Selling such a player seems off the cards for Man United as INEOS see him as the future of the club, but nothing can be ruled out in football.

Failure to qualify for the Champions League again next season will come with plenty of financial implications, which could force the club to sell some key players.

The opportunity to move to where he has a realistic chance of winning the elite European competition and league titles could appeal to Garnacho, and losing him next summer is a huge possibility.
