Arsenal vs Manchester United Preview
Manchester United will be looking to eliminate Premier League rivals Arsenal to progress into the fifth round of this season’s FA Cup when we meet at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night.
Clearly the most-anticipated tie of the round, both sides were comfortable in their victories over lower league opposition in round three to set up this mouth-watering tie.
We played out a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford when we hosted Arsenal at the start of December, but that was under the management of Jose Mourinho. Since the Portuguese coach’s departure we’ve gone from strength to strength under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, with the Norwegian winning all seven games in charge.
The Gunners were victors in our most recent FA Cup meeting, securing a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford in the quarter-finals during our 2014-15 campaign.
Arsenal vs Manchester United Team News
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already confirmed that Marouane Fellaini, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo will not feature in North London tomorrow due to injuries. And David de Gea wasn’t part of the travelling party that left on Thursday headed southbound to the capital.
The boss also confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will feature in this game having missed our last two games through injury. It is not yet known whether the Chilean will start or not.
Meanwhile, Arsenal come into this game off the back of 2-0 win against London rivals Chelsea in the Premier League last weekend. Manager Unai Emery is also expected to make changes to his side.
One of them is enforced due to a serious injury suffered by Hector Bellerin that will keep the Spaniard out for approximately 6-9 months.
Former United duo Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Danny Welbeck also miss out through injury. The latter isn’t expected to play again for the club as he recovers from surgery and has already been told his contract won’t be renewed when it expires in the summer.
Centre-back Rob Holding is also sidelined but Laurent Koscielny has returned to the team in recent weeks.
