Antony determined to join Man Utd, agents based in London

Ajax winger Antony is determined to make the switch to Manchester United before the English transfer deadline, according to The Telegraph.

The Red Devils have identified the Brazil international as their priority attacking target, but they are yet to finalise an agreement with the Dutch champions.

They have had two bids of €60 million and €80m million knocked back for Antony, and Ajax are said to want at least €100m to sanction his departure.

Amidst this, The Telegraph report that Antony is trying to force an exit, and his agents from 4ComM are already based in London to negotiate with United.

The representatives plan to stay put until the end of the transfer window. The 22-year-old is hopeful that Red Devils can reach a suitable agreement with Ajax.

United likely to meet Ajax’s transfer demands for Antony

United have been in regular talks with the Amsterdam outfit since the beginning of July, and it appears they are now on the cusp of landing his services.

However, they are unlikely to receive any discounts. Antony was available for around €80m in early July, but United were reluctant to pay more than €60m for him.

Ajax went on to raise their asking price to €100m towards the end of the month, and they are now firm on the valuation. The onus is on United to meet their demands.

United are definitely paying over the odds for Antony, but we believe the hierarchy will eventually meet the figure as Ten Hag has been insistent on signing him.

Ten Hag’s playing style requires attackers with plenty of pace and good dribbling skills, and Antony would be a perfect foil for United on the right wing where he specialises.

The same can be said for Cody Gakpo, who is left-wing dominant. United seem determined to sign both players. They plan to open talks for the PSV star later this week.
