Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen has heaped praise on Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford ahead of the Europa League meeting between the clubs.
The Red Devils travel to the Camp Nou for the first leg of the knockout play-off on Thursday. Ahead of the game, Christensen has hailed Rashford, who is in the form of his life.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, the former Chelsea man said: “He is in great shape at the moment. I like him a lot, I love his way of playing. He is a direct, dangerous and powerful player.”
Rashford has key role to play at Camp Nou
Rashford has been fantastic for the Red Devils this campaign. He has scored 21 goals and provided eight assists from just 34 appearances across all competitions.
His form has been quite sensational since the World Cup with 14 goal involvements. The 25-year-old has a big role to play in tomorrow’s Europa League meeting.
Barcelona possess the best defensive record in Europe’s top-five leagues with just seven goals conceded but they were far from their best in the Champions League.
They conceded 12 goals en route to finishing third in their group. Hence, United should go into tomorrow’s game with the optimism that they can outclass the Blaugrana.
Rashford has scored from the centre-forward role in each of the last two outings and in our view, the England star should lead the line against the Catalan giants.
United will be aiming to end a four-match losing streak against Barcelona. They have not won at Camp Nou in their history. Hopefully, they can put an end to the run.
