Andre Onana wins Manchester United’s Player of the Month award for March

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has claimed March’s Player of the Month prize for the very first time, beating Diogo Dalot and Alejandro Garnacho ito the award.

The 28-year-old had a difficult start to life in England after arriving at Old Trafford from Inter Milan last summer.

However, he has been excellent in recent months and has deservedly won the Player of the Month award.

Onana made great saves in United’s stunning FA Cup win over Liverpool last month, while he was also at the top of his game in their most recent outing against Brentford.

The Cameroonian has started all 29 Premier League matches for the Red Devils this season, keeping eight clean sheets.

He has made 107 total saves in the English top flight this term, with only Luton Town’s Thomas Kaminski and West Ham United’s Alphonse Areola making more.

Huge turnaround for Onana

Onana initially struggled to adapt to the Premier League.

He made several high-profile mistakes that proved costly to Erik ten Hag’s side, most notably in the Champions League.

Onana looked short of confidence and was making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

But he has made a massive turnaround within the last few months and deserves his accolade.

The talented goalkeeper is a perfect fit for Ten Hag due to his ability to play out from the back.

He is finally showing why United were so keen to secure his services.
