Agent negotiated 20% brokerage commission – Manchester United agree to trigger the release clause for wonderkid

Manchester United will consider paying the full amount of the release clause in order to attain the services of talented Uruguayan winger  Facundo Pellistri, confirmed by Sport 890 journalist Sebas Giovanelli

As reported earlier, Manchester United want to sign Pellistri as soon as possible, while his current club, Peñarol, want the prodigy to stay put at the Uruguayan premier division side until next January.

Hence, Manchester United have supposedly taken the swift decision to secure his signature by paying the whole amount of his release clause, which is thought to be around €10m.

In the last February, Pellistri signed a new contract extension with the Uruguayan club.

The outlet named El Observador then suggested that the renewed contract of the teenager had contained a buyout clause of €10m.

According to the claims made by Sebas Giovanelli, Pellistri’s agents had negotiated a 20% ‘brokerage commission’ when they were setting up the terms in the contract extension.

But now, Peñarol are not ready to pay the full amount. They are adamant to pay only 4% of the clause, which is less than a quarter of what they had agreed previously.

Therefore, Pellistri’s potential move to Manchester United is at a standstill.

As reported elsewhere, he has agreed to sign for United on a five-year deal.

And there is still hope that this deal could be struck down before the transfer deadline.

The ongoing summer transfer window is set to close on Monday.
