Agent of Christian Eriksen flattered by Man Utd interest

The agent of Christian Eriksen has said that it is a “compliment” to the Danish star that he has been linked with a move to Manchester United and other top clubs.

Eriksen has been one of the most consistent and top players in the Premier League over the past four-and-a-half seasons since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Ajax for £11 million in 2013.

The rumours of us making an offer for Christian Eriksen have been few and far between but the player’s agent, Martin Scoots, has told Danish outlet BT that he is flattered by the interest:

“When clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United are mentioned, it’s always a compliment. Since Christian was 14 years old, big clubs have shown interest.

“The first were Chelsea, AC Milan and Barcelona, since then there has been no transfer window without any offer or interest.”

Christian Eriksen has scored seven goals and recorded a further seven assists in his 27 Premier League starts for Tottenham Hotspur this season, helping them to fourth place where they currently sit.

The Danish international has also scored twice in five Champions League appearances, including the free kick to rescue Spurs a 2-2 draw in Turin during in the first leg of their second round tie against Juventus earlier this month.

Scoots added:

“It is not all clubs known by the press. Christian is not a guy who wants to talk too much. He talks with his feet.”

The 26-year-old is under contract with Tottenham until 2020 and believed to be earning around £70,000-a-week.  Given that the North London side are known to be stingy with their wages, he could certainly be tempted with a move to Old Trafford one would think.

Eriksen could certainly add to our attack with his playmaking and goalscoring ability but so far there is no news on us making an offer for the attacking midfielder.
