Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has said that he would relish the prospect of playing alongside Jadon Sancho, should his compatriot make the move to Old Trafford in the next transfer window.
Sancho has been regularly linked with the Red Devils over the past few months and it has recently been revealed that the club have made initial contact with the player’s representative.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have yet to make any official bid for the attacker but Rashford would welcome the opportunity to play alongside the England international next term.
“Obviously we’ll be good. Sancho is a great player and you sort of, you know, it’s like the new generation player and it’s definitely exciting, to watch him become the player that is becoming so, um, you know, credit to him. Hopefully we can, we can all play together. That’ll be, that’d be good,” he told Bleacher Report.
Sancho has made significant progress during his two-and-a-half years with Borussia Dortmund and in the current campaign, he has bagged 17 goals and 19 assists from just 35 appearances in all competitions.
The 20-year-old would prove the ideal signing for United to strengthen the right-wing position, where they have lacked the presence of a regular starter, who can find the back of the net.
It has been previously reported that Sancho would prefer a move to United over the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool but he won’t come on the cheap with Fabrizio Romano recently claiming that Dortmund are holding out for a £98m (€110m) fee to sanction his sale.
Such a figure would obviously consume most of the transfer budget at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s disposal but the deal should be worthy, considering Sancho is only at the early phase of his career and should enhance the club’s goalscoring exploits in the Premier League.
