Manchester United welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Old Trafford on Saturday for this weekend’s Premier League fixture.
The Seagulls are down in 13th in the table having taken just one point from their last two games.
Chris Hughton’s side have scored just 24 goals in their 22 matches this season and are heavy underdogs to get anything against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, with the Norwegian a perfect six for six as caretaker manager.
Here is the Brighton team we could see facing us:
Goalkeeper: David Button
First choice goalkeeper Mat Ryan is away representing Australia at the Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates so David Button will start his fourth consecutive Premier League game for the South club side. Button kept a clean sheet in his first start, a 1-0 victory at home to Everton before shipping two at West Ham United and being part of the side that lost 0-1 at home to Liverpool last Saturday.
Defence: Martin Montoya, Lewis Dunk, Shane Duffy, Gaeten Bong
The Brighton defence have lost Bernardo at left-back through a hamstring injury so Gaeten Bong will start for a second consecutive game. Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy have started virtually all of Brighton’s Premier League games in central defence and are threats from set pieces. Duffy already has four goals this season. Former-Barcelona youngster Martin Montoya can expect to continue at right-back. The Spaniard has been very good defending in his first season in England but should face a stern challenge up against Anthony Martial this weekend with Alexis Sanchez a possible option on the left wing for Ole too.
Midfield: Solly March, Dale Stephens, Davy Propper, Jurgen Locadia; Pascal Gross
Brighton have Dale Stephens working hard in midfield to try break up play in a game where we can expect to dominate possession and territory. I think Chris Hughton will go with Jurgen Locadia down the left wing to look to cause us problems on the counter-attack. Though the Dutchman did start up front and score in their draw against Arsenal on Boxing Day. Solly March also offers attacking threat down the right whilst Pascal Gross hasn’t been as near as productive in a central attacking midfield role as he was last season.
Striker: Glenn Murray
Glenn Murray can expect another start up front against us. The experienced Englishman has scored eight goals in 17 Premier League starts for Brighton this season and is a good threat inside the penalty area.
