4-3-3: Man Utd predicted XI to face Huddersfield

Manchester United’s final away game of the 2018-19 Premier League season is at Huddersfield Town on Sunday.

The Terriers have picked up just 14 points all season whilst anything less than a win for us will almost certainly prevent us from qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a number of injuries and knocks to deal with, particularly in attack, ahead of this weekend’s game.

Here is the team I think the boss will name:

Goalkeeper: David de Gea
Going through his worst spell since we first signed him, I still expect Ole to show faith in David de Gea by starting him at the John Smith’s Stadium. Boosted further by Sergio Romero tweaking his knee in training this week.

Defence: Ashley Young, Phil Jones, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw
It would be nice to see Diogo Dalot given a chance in our final two games of the season but I expect Ashley Young to remain at right-back. Luke Shaw’s a certainty to start on the opposite flank. Eric Bailly is ruled out for the final two games and both Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are doubtful. I expect the latter will start against Victor Lindelof if he’s available though. Otherwise, we’ll have to look towards Matteo Darmian or Marcos Rojo.

Midfield: Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba
Ander Herrera is available again so I expect Ole to revert to his favourite central midfield trio which also includes the out-of-form duo of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic. Herrera and Pogba should see the most touches in this match as we are expected to dominant the possession.

Attack: Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez
Marcus Rashford is a doubt with a shoulder injury, Romelu Lukaku may also be ruled out through injury and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking towards Anthony Martial to end his goal drought. Makes sense for the French international to move into the central striker position in this game then. With Jesse Lingard also a doubt I would expect Juan Mata to start down the right wing, especially as we should be controlling possession in this game. Alexis Sanchez is fit again to start down the left.
