Manchester United travel to Norwich City for the first FA Cup quarter-final tie of the weekend.
We head to Carrow Road in red hot form after a thumping 3-0 victory over Sheffield United in the Premier League on Wednesday, whilst Daniel Farke’s side prop up the Premier League, suffering a 1-0 loss at home to Everton hours earlier.
As this is our third game in nine days, and with Bournemouth to come four days later ahead of a tight fixture list, it is widely expected that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will ring the changes.
Here is the starting XI I expect to face Norwich:
Goalkeeper: Sergio Romero
The Argentine may feel harsh done by not to have started our last Premier League match after David de Gea’s blunder away to Tottenham Hotspur but Sergio Romero certainly remains the cup goalkeeper this season.
Defence: Diogo Dalot, Eric Bailly, Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams
We’ve started with the same back four for both Premier League games so far, so I am expecting Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw all to be given a breather this weekend. That would likely see Diogo Dalot and Brandon Williams come in at full-back and Eric Bailly to partner Harry Maguire in the middle.
Midfield: Scott McTominay, Fred; Mason Greenwood, Juan Mata, Daniel James
Both Scott McTominay and Fred were given a rest midweek having started our first game so the midfield pairing should be in line to start our FA Cup tie. In front of them, I can see Mason Greenwood being deployed down the right, Daniel James down the left and Juan Mata pulling the strings in a number 10 role. Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard are other options to the boss, potentially down the left.
Striker: Odion Ighalo
Our hero versus Derby County in the last round, Odion Ighalo has only been used as a late substitute since the league got back up and running again but you have to expect the Nigerian to get the nod in this one with both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford being rested.
Here’s our team on paper:
