4-2-3-1: Man Utd predicted XI to face Crystal Palace – Dalot at right-back?

Manchester United go to Crystal Palace this evening looking to close the gap on Chelsea and potentially overtake Leicester City in the battle for Champions League football.

The Blues have already won their game this week to move four points ahead of us, whilst Leicester host Sheffield United two hours before we kick off at Selhurst Park.

Opponents Crystal Palace appear to be on holiday, having lost all five games since they were assured of safety.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has promised changes to the side that drew 2-2 with Southampton on Monday night, with an eye on the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea this weekend, with Frank Lampard’s side going into that match with two days’ extra rest.

Here is the team I think we’ll see facing Crystal Palace:

Goalkeeper: David de Gea
The Spaniard should stay between the posts as Sergio Romero is the cup goalkeeper. He wasn’t too busy on Monday and didn’t have much of a chance with either goal conceded.

Defence: Diogo Dalot, Eric Bailly, Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams
I believe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will stick a back four as Luke Shaw often plays when he reverts to a back three and the England international looks set to miss this game through injury. Although Harry Maguire needs a rest I think it’ll be Victor Lindelof that misses out with Eric Bailly coming into the starting lineup. I don’t see why a cut above the eye will keep Brandon Williams out, whilst Diogo Dalot could give Aaron Wan-Bissaka a rest.

Midfield: Scott McTominay, Fred; Daniel James, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford
Fred replaced a tired Paul Pogba on the hour on Monday night. This time I think the Brazilian gets the nod from the start. He’s looked energetic and enthusiastic going forward in many of his substitute appearances since the restart. Scott McTominay can give Nemanja Matic a rest before the FA Cup. Mason Greenwood looked tired for most of the Southampton game before picking up an ankle knock so Daniel James would be his obvious replacement, with Jesse Lingard another option. Bruno Fernandes seems full of energy as does Marcus Rashford so they can keep their starting place.

Striker: Anthony Martial
It will be interesting to see who Ole wants to go with for the FA Cup. I think Anthony Martial gets the nod on Thursday but if he has to play the full 90 minutes then Odion Ighalo may start on Sunday.

Here’s how we could lineup tonight:
