22-goal French striker would be open to Manchester United transfer: report

Lyon striker Moussa Dembele would reportedly find it difficult to turn down a move to Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

The France international has been with Les Gones since the summer of 2018 and he has contributed 44 goals and 13 assists from 88 appearances across all competitions.

Out of those, he has managed 22 goals and seven assists this term where he has been the regular choice upfront for Les Gones amid the long-term injury to Memphis Depay.

According to Manchester Evening News, the former Celtic man is eager to make the switch to the Red Devils this summer but the final decision may lie on United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United have recently shifted from the regular video analysis to data analytics to choose their striker targets and a recent report revealed that RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is one of the players, who has caught their attention.

The Red Devils have yet to identify their priority target to strengthen the centre-forward department and it will be interesting to see whether they will make an approach to sign Dembele.

Dembele has previously played for Fulham in the Championship and that would see him qualify as a home-grown player, should he make the move to Old Trafford.

At the age of 23, he perfectly suits Solskjaer’s preference to sign young and prime-age players and he could be available for an affordable sum of around £36m, as per Transfermarkt.
