Manchester United returned to winning ways on Thursday night with a 2-0 victory over PAOK in the Europa League.
The Red Devils had a below-par opening half against the Greek outfit and they could have easily conceded more than one goal.
PAOK lacked the cutting edge with their finishing. United capitalised following the break with Amad Diallo scoring an impressive brace.
United will return to Premier League action against the Foxes tomorrow.
The game will be Ruud van Nistelrooy’s last one as interim manager. There is a possibility that he may not be part of Ruben Amorim’s backroom staff.
Regardless of this, the Dutchman will want to end his temporary tenure on a high. United should be favourites to beat the Foxes at Old Trafford.
Ahead of the encounter, United have released training ground pictures. 17-year-old Jayce John Fitzgerald was one of those photographed by the club.
Here is the picture released by Manutd.com.
Fitzgerald has been part of the matchday squad for the last three games in all competitions. He has been an unused substitute and continues to wait for his first-team debut.
Van Nistelrooy obviously seems impressed by the progress made by the youngster. The 17-year-old is a central midfielder by trade, but can operate in several other positions.
He can feature as a defensive or attacking midfielder. He has also made a few appearances in central defence for the Under 18s. His versatility should benefit him in the long run.
Van Nistelrooy has resisted the temptation to play the wonderkid so far. Fitzgerald will be hoping to make his senior bow off the bench if United are in a dominant position on Sunday.
The Foxes game is a must-win for the Red Devils. They are already six points behind the Champions League places and can’t slip up further by failing to beat Steve Cooper’s side.
